North Huntingdon shooting investigation on Route 30

The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office said state police are investigating a shooting in North Huntingdon on Tuesday afternoon. This is still a fresh investigation, being we haven’t gathered all of those details yet,” state police Trooper Tristan Tappe said at an afternoon news briefing.When asked if shots had been fired at law enforcement, Tappe said, “We cannot confirm those details at this time.”Jason Safar, a witness, told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4, “We heard the sound of what might be flashbangs or gas grenades, so we stepped outside. That seemed to be the beginning of the incident. From there, we saw the officers running around, weapons drawn.” He added, “It appeared that the suspect had ran around back into the fields next door.”This is a developing story.
