HONOLULU – The University of Hawai’i football team will look to snap its road losing streak with a Mountain West match-up at New Mexico, Saturday, Oct. 21 at University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M. Kickoff is 4:00 p.m. MT (12:00 p.m. HT). The Rainbow Warriors (2-5, 0-2 MW) have lost their last nine road games since the start of last season while the Lobos (2-4, 0-2) have lost 20 consecutive Mountain West home games dating back to 2017.

GAME STORYLINES
- UH leads the overall series with New Mexico 15-10 and won the last two meetings in 2019 and 2020.
- The series is tied 4-4 in Albuquerque with UH winning the last match-up in 2019. In those eight meetings, seven games were decided by 10+ points.
- Since UH joined the Mountain West in 2012, the teams have met five times with UNM holding a slight 3-2 advantage.
- The series began in 1979 when both schools were members of the Western Athletic Conference. The schools met 17 times over a 20-year span and didn’t play again until 2012.
- Hawai’i (2-5, 0-2 MW) dropped to 0-2 in Mountain West play after a 41-34 loss to San Diego State last week in Honolulu. UH erased a 17-point first-half deficit to momentarily take the lead before the Aztecs out-scored the Warriors 21-10 in the fourth quarter. In the loss, UH set season highs in points, total offense (480), passing yards (427), and turnovers (4).
- New Mexico (2-4, 0-2) squandered a 17-14 halftime lead in a 52-24 loss to San Jose State last week in Albuquerque, N.M. The Lobos were out-scored 38-7 in the second half.
- The Lobos have lost 14 consecutive Mountain West games, the longest conference losing streak in the nation. UNM has also lost 20 straight conference home games dating back to 2017.
- UH has lost nine consecutive road games dating back to last season including five straight Mountain West road games. In the nine-game losing streak, UH has been out-scored by a combined 350-148 including 134-58 in three road losses this season.
- Hawai’i has been out-scored 147-64 in the first half this season, including 76-17 in the first quarter. UH has been shutout in the first quarter in four straight games (out-scored 48-0) and have trailed at the half in six of seven games this season.
- QB Brayden Schager has thrown at least one touchdown pass in each of his last 16 games, which is currently the sixth-longest streak nationally. He leads FBS with seven 50+ yard passes.
- Schager threw for a career-high 427 yards in last week’s loss to SDSU—his fourth 300+ yard game this season—and in the process became the 10th quarterback in program history to reach 5,000 career passing yards. He needs 223 yards to surpass Dru Brown for No. 8 all-time.
- UH ranks No. 130 of 130 FBS teams in rushing offense, averaging 57.7 yards per game.
- WR Steven McBride is the only FBS player with 150+ receiving yards in each of his last two games (6 catches for 180 yards vs. UNLV and 5 catches for 157 yards vs. San Diego State). McBride has four catches of 50+ yards in the last two games.
- UH has lost the turnover battle in five of seven games this season and had equal turnovers in the other two. The Warriors rank No. 128 nationally in turnover margin (4 gained, 13 lost).
- After not losing a fumble through the first four games of the season, UH has lost five fumbles in the last three games, including three last week versus San Diego State.
