No. 7 Men’s Swim and Dive Sweep Big 12 Weekly Awards Again

AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 7 Texas men’s swim and dive program swept the Big 12 weekly awards for the second-straight week.

Nate Germonprez was named the men’s swimmer of the week for his second conference award this season. At No. 15 Virginia, Germonprez swept the IM events with a time of 48.45 in the 100 IM and 1:46.53 in the 200 IM. He later added two runner-up finished on the 400 medley relay and the 400 free relay, along with a second-place finish in the 100 breast with a time of 53.67.

Will Modglin was tabbed with the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week award for the second-straight week and now has three weekly conference awards in his freshman season. Modglin recorded six top-three finishes, including a win in the 100 back with a time of 47.16. He was the runner-up in the 50 free (20.22), 400 medley (3:13.70), 200 medley relay (1:35.63) and the 400 free relay (2:57.23).

Nick Harris closed out the sweep for the Longhorns winning the Big 12 Diver of the Week for the second time this season and sixth time in his career. He recorded his second-best score of the season on the 1-meter with 379.28 points before winning the 3-meter with a season-best score of 416.40 points.
