Icelandair is adding two new destinations in North America to its schedule for summer 2024.
The carrier is to introduce flights from Reykjavik’s Keflavik airport to Pittsburgh, which will become its 12th US destination. The service will operate four times per week from mid-May until the end of October.
Icelandair will also restore a route between Reykjavik and Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada, with three weekly flights from 31 May until mid-October. This route was last operated by the airline in 2018.
Further bolstering its capacity, the airline will add more frequencies on existing routes and will offer daily flights to 28 destinations in Europe and North America next summer.
Overall capacity in 2024 is expected to increase by 10 per cent, as measured in available seat kilometres (ASK), compared with this year. The company said it would be the “largest” schedule in Icelandair’s history.
Icelandair is due to take delivery of three Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in 2024 taking its total fleet up to 42 aircraft.
