Big Bend no longer considering defunding their police department

BIG BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) — The long debate of defunding the Big Bend police is now over, according to a press release. 

Members of the Big Bend Professional Police Association met with the Village of Big Bend Finance committee members to discuss the 2024 bargaining agreement between the village, rank, and file officers. 

The police budget for 2024 was approved on Nov. 2. 

According to the press release, the Big Bend Police Department will remain open, with no change of coverage or services.
