John Alan Auflick

John Alan Auflick, 64, of Starbrick passed away at his home on Saturday Oct. 28, 2023. He was born in Nelsonville, Ohio on May 13, 1959, the son of Rodney Auflick and Joan (Tanguy) Auflick. John was a graduate of Sheffield High School. John served his country in the United States Navy from 1979 – 1981; going on to continue his service for an additional 19 years in the US Naval Reserves. He served on the USS Frank Cable during its maiden voyage from Seattle, WA to Charleston, SC in 1980. In John’s younger years he was an avid runner, having run the Pittsburgh, Columbus and Boston Marathons. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his dogs and watching the Pittsburgh sports teams: Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.

Left behind to cherish John’s memory are his four children: Josh Auflick of Freedonia, NY, Matt Auflick of Seattle, WA, Danny Auflick of Pittsburgh, PA and Hannah Auflick of Jamestown, NY; two sisters, Cassie Knowles of Ocala, FL, and Mary Kay Auflick of Sheffield, PA. John is further survived by his five grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
