OGDEN — He’s, “The Dude” — or His Dudeness, or Duder or El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing — and Saturday is a day to celebrate him.
Saturday marks Ogden’s ninth annual Big Lebowski Festival at Peery’s Egyptian Theater. Festivities celebrating the 1998 cult classic film begin at 6 p.m.
According to a press release, the event is one-of-a-kind in the state.
“As one of the most unique events in Utah, we are extending this year’s festival to include art vendors, movie merchandise, and a pre-party and after-party in addition to the costume contest, trivia, white Russian cocktails, and of course the film screening,” the release said. “Since 2014, Ogden’s Big Lebowski Festival brings 250-400 attendees annually to the historic Peery’s Egyptian Theater in Ogden, Utah for a celebration of film. This is a fundraising event for the Egyptian Theater Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the historic Peery’s Egyptian Theater, which has been a cornerstone of Ogden’s cultural landscape since 1924.”
