Rainy conditions could impact holiday travel for Arkansans

Date:

ARKANSAS, USA — As many make plans for holiday travel, here’s something you might want to consider.

On Monday, southern and southeastern Arkansas are under a ‘Slight Risk’ for severe weather and damaging wind will be the main concern. However, an isolated, brief tornado cannot be ruled out.

This is all thanks to a potent cold front that quickly moves through on Monday afternoon into the overnight hours and into Tuesday morning.

Spotty showers will start overnight on Sunday and transition into scattered thunderstorms on Monday morning. The strongest line of storms will likely move through between lunchtime and dinnertime (approx. 12:00 pm-6:00 p.m.)

This is also when the best overall rain coverage and severe threat is expected to happen.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue overnight into Tuesday morning, but the overall rain threat will end by midday. Cooler and drier conditions are expected through the Thanksgiving holiday.
