Looking ahead

The following is a look at what is happening in arts and entertainment for Saturday, Dec. 2.

Concert

COOPERSTOWN — Fenimore Chamber Orchestra will present a concert of music by Corelli, Handel, Respighi and Fuchs, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Christ Church at 46 River St., in Cooperstown.

The orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Maciej Zoltowski.

Staged reading

EARLVILLE — A staged reading of “A Christmas Carol” will be presented at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, by the Sherburne Music-Theater Society at Earlville Opera House at 18 E. Main St. in Earlville.

According to a media release, the production based on the story by Charles Dickens, was written by Christopher Schario and directed by Rick Thormahlen.

Scrooge will be portrayed by Michael Zahn and Kevin Simmons will take on the role of Bob Cratchit.

The program is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection.

Admission is free. Free-will donations will be accepted.

BAINBRIDGE — A one-act Christmas play and caroling will be presented at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Town Hall Theatre at 15 N. Main St. in Bainbridge.

According to a media release, The Out of The Woodwork Players will present “We Interrupt This Program…” written by Claire Boiko.

Donations of non-perishable food items or money are requested to benefit food pantries in Bainbridge and Sidney.

A look back

Because of band illness, Music on the Delaware was unable to present the Della Mae concert on Nov. 18. However, MOD reports that the band will be rescheduled for sometime in the spring.
