Nature’s fury on the big lake | News, Sports, Jobs

Marquette resident Ron Mattson caught this photo of Lake Superior in October. He said it took it to make those new to the Lake Superior shore line aware of the danger the Big Lake can pose. He said the photo was “taken from a safe distance capturing wave crashing over Black Rocks and just minutes before a few folks were standing where the wave swept over. We had 45-50 mph north winds that day.” Did you take a great shot of the sunset over Teal Lake? Or did you happen to snap a captivating image of wildlife? The Mining Journal is accepting original local photo submissions from area residents who would like to share their notable, interesting or humorous pictures with our readers.
