The meaning of the beginning of winter lies in the transition between autumn and winter, and since dumplings are homophonous with “jiaozi” (which means the joining of two periods), eating dumplings has become one of the important customs during the beginning of winter. People believe that eating dumplings can bring prayers for a bountiful harvest and happiness in the coming year.
In order to promote traditional folk culture and allow employees to experience the charm of traditional solar terms, on November 7th, the Jilin Branch of China Oil Logging Corporation prepared heartwarming dumplings for the employees’ lunch, enabling them to taste the delicious food of the Beginning of Winter solar term right at their workplaces. At the same time, the electronic screen in the cafeteria displayed the origin and customs of the Beginning of Winter solar term, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in appreciating the traditional culture of the Chinese nation while enjoying the delicious meal.
