ALPENA — The Alpena Community College women’s basketball team lost one game and won another over the weekend.
On Friday in Petoskey, the women lost 50-69 to Grand Rapids Community College, getting outscored in every quarter except the fourth.
Top ACC scorers in that game were Isabella Franklin, who had 17, and Allie Urlaub, who had 12, followed by Makayla Kamyszek with eight points. Carmen Dellar and Emily Jackson each had three points.
On Saturday, the women Lumberjacks redeemed themselves with a 59-57 victory over North Central Michigan College, outscoring their opponents in the first and fourth quarters.
Top scorers in that game included Urlaub, who had 19 points, Kamyszek, who had 11, and Jackson, who had 10 points. Other scorers that game included Franklin, who had nine points, Shaelyn Lampinen, who had four points, Dellar, who had three points, Kenna Tippman, who had two points, and Bryce Roy, who had one point.
ACC improves to 2-3 after Saturday’s win.
The men and women head today to Lake Superior State University.
