An ‘Outstanding Candidate’ for Madison Board of Finance

Date:

To the Editor:

I am writing to enthusiastically endorse John A. Rasimas for the Board of Finance in Madison, CT, in the upcoming election. John’s extensive background in finance, coupled with his dedication to education and public service, uniquely position him to make a positive impact on our community.

John’s expertise in financial matters is undeniable. He’s had a successful career in finances including 38 years as the auditor for the CT legislature and as an Adjunct Professor at Central Connecticut State University since 2004. Moreover, his involvement in public service, such as his role as Tournament Director for the CSEC Charity Tennis Tournament and his participation in the National State Auditors Association, underscores his dedication to giving back to the community.

His commitment to fostering better communication across the board and empowering the community to make informed decisions is a welcome change from our current administration. He challenges their current retention of $20 million in the undesignated fund balance, where $10 million would exceed a standard fund of 10% of our budget. That’s taxes we shouldn’t have to be paying! He questions the efficiency of our education budget increases while our schools have fallen to 34th in the state (US News and World Report).
.
John’s academic achievements, including a Master’s in Accounting and Taxation from the University of Hartford and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University, add depth to his practical experience.

John A. Rasimas is an outstanding candidate whose accomplishments span diverse spheres. His professionalism, expertise, and dedication to our community are exemplary. I wholeheartedly believe that he is the right choice for the Board of Finance and deserves our highest commendation.
