Holiday market
The second annual Crafty Women Holiday Market and Bake Sale for Soroptomist of Whitefish will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Whitefish Community Center located at 121 East Second Street.
A wide variety of arts and crafts made by local women will be ready for holiday shoppers. Delicious baked goods will be sold with the proceeds going to Soroptomist’s many programs that benefit area women and girls. For more information, contact Jan Metzmaker at 406-260-6443.
Banff Film Festival Tour
Fun, fascinating, international, outdoor sport and cultural films that are inspiring and breathtaking in their beauty and messages will be shown as part of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour on Dec. 5-6 at Flathead Valley Community College.
Each evening of films is around two and half hours with six or seven different films each night. This is an annual event with proceeds going to the Flathead Nordic Backcountry Patrol, sponsored by local businesses, with a large bake sale by the Glacier Nordic ski program. Raffles and door prices as well.
Films begin at 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 per night, or both nights $40 Different films are shown each evening.

Glacier Symphony celebrates season with ‘Handel’s Messiah’
Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale will provide a musical celebration of the meaning of Christmas with two performances of “Handel’s Messiah.”
Performances are Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.
Both performances will be at the Wachholz College Center on the Flahtead Valley Community College campus. Extraordinary professional voice soloists, 89-member chorale and orchestra will wow with Handel’s inspiring oratorio. Kick off the holiday season with this classic Glacier Symphony piece celebrating Christ’s Nativity story.
