Brightline offering Black Friday deals ahead of busy holiday travel season – NBC 6 South Florida

Date:

If you are planning to travel this holiday season, Brightline is offering a number of deals to help you save money.

Now through Nov. 27, or Cyber Monday, you can score Bright Friday deals for rides now through February of next year.

One-way adult SMART fares to Orlando start at $59 and kids ride for 50% off.

And if you’re traveling between Orlando and West Palm Beach, you will receive an additional 50% off reduced SMART fares and $50 off PREMIUM fares for travel through December 15.

If you are only looking to travel on Thanksgiving Day only, you can grab $39 adult SMART fares and kids ride for $20.

“This is our first holiday season with our Orlando station up and running, and so we are running those trains hourly,” said Brightline spokesperson, Katie Mitzner. “They are filling up fast, so we encourage people to go ahead and book and book soon if you’re still planning for your Thanksgiving travel.”

Planning to drive or fly instead? Despite inflation and memories of past holiday travel meltdowns, millions of people are expected to hit airports and highways in record numbers over the Thanksgiving break.

The busiest days to fly are the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after.

The Transportation Security Administration expects to screen 2.6 million passengers on Tuesday and 2.7 million passengers on Wednesday. Sunday will draw the largest crowds with an estimated 2.9 million passengers, which would narrowly eclipse a record set on June 30.

Meanwhile, AAA forecasts that 55.4 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home between Wednesday and the Sunday after Thanksgiving, with roads likely to be the most clogged on Wednesday.

Luckily, gas prices in Florida have fallen to new 2023 lows as nearly 2.8 million Floridians prepare to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, according to AAA.

On Tuesday, the average price of a gallon was $3.04 which is 15 cents cheaper than it was a week ago and the lowest average daily price since the end of December 2022, AAA said.

It’s also 37 cents less than what drivers paid last Thanksgiving.
