STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State soccer team is gearing up for its final exhibition match when they travel to Samford University on Thursday. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. at the Shauna Yelton Field on the campus of Samford University.
Fresh off a convincing 3-0 victory against Kennesaw State in their home exhibition on Monday night, the Bulldogs are riding high on momentum as they head into this exhibition showdown. With an impressive display of teamwork, skill, and determination, Mississippi State showcased its readiness to take on any challenge.
The match against Samford holds significant importance for the Bulldogs as they fine-tune their strategies and teamwork before embarking on their regular season journey. This exhibition serves as a final opportunity for the Bulldogs to gauge their strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring they are well-prepared for the competitive battles that await them.
Following this exhibition, Mississippi State’s soccer team will head to Arizona to kick off their 2023 regular season campaign. The anticipation is building, and the Bulldogs are determined to start their season with the same fervor they’ve demonstrated throughout their preseason preparations.
While in Arizona, the Bulldogs will play a pair of road matches. The regular season starts in Phoenix on Aug. 17 at Grand Canyon University, with kickoff set for 9 p.m. CT. Following their contest against the Lopers, the Bulldogs will travel to Tempe, Ariz., to take on Arizona State on Aug. 20 at 9 p.m. CT. Mississippi State will make its home regular-season debut on Thursday, Aug. 24, when they host Northwestern State at 6:30 p.m.
