RANDOLPH — The Randolph volleyball continued its perfect run through the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association East Division with a sweep of Salamanca 25-9, 25-11, 25-12, to clinch the league title outright on Tuesday night.
Eve Adams struck 13 kills and five aces to lead the Cardinals (14-2, 13-0); Kameron Luce had 10 aces and two digs; Allie Conley recorded five aces, five kills and three digs; and Aliza Hind added 19 assists and two aces.
JHS FALLS TO FREDONIA
FREDONIA — Behind 16 kills, nine digs and two aces from Elizabeth Morris, Fredonia held off Jamestown 26-28, 25-19, 25-18, 23-15, 15-6 in a Division 1 West volleyball match.
Lydia LaBarr added seven kills, 12 digs and two aces; Maddie Saunders collected four kills, one ace and 28 assists; and Kaylen Rollins chipped in six kills, seven digs and one ace for the winners.
For the Red Raiders, Betty Tubbs recorded nine kills and three blocks; Avery Salvaggio contributed 21 assists and seven digs; Grayson Bloomquist added two kills, two assists and 11 digs; and Kaylin Russell registered 10 kills and seven digs.
TROJANS PREVAIL
Lauren Cotter’s 12 kills, 10 aces, eight digs and four blocks helped Southwestern down Olean 25-16, 13-25, 25-14, 25-22 in a Division 1 West match.
Jaidyn Newhouse added six kills, four digs and four blocks; Bella Sirianni collected two kills, one ace, 18 assists and four digs; Mckenna Bogdanowicz contributed one kill, seven aces and one dig; and Payton Swartz had 11 digs and one ace for the Trojans.
For the Huskies, Anna Bates had two aces, 19 assists and 12 digs; Sophie Bartman added 13 kills and 11 digs; and Ashley Zewe had 12 digs.
FALCONER CLAIMS WIN NO. 15
FALCONER — Led by 19 kills, 26 assists, nine digs and two blocks from Hannah Melquist, Falconer improved to 15-2 overall and 11-2 in Division 1 West with a 25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15 victory over Allegany-Limestone.
Ashley Smith had 17 kills, Augustine Krenzer collected nine assists, 12 digs and six aces; and Mylie Zaranek chipped in 14 digs, six kills and four aces.
For the Gators, Tullah Hasselberg had 16 assists; Serena Frederick collected 12 kills and 14 digs; and Mia McCarthy added 20 digs.
GOWANDA HOLDS OFF T’WOLVES
CATTARAUGUS — Holland Browning’s two aces, five kills, block and 28 digs helped Gowanda past Cattaraugus-Little Valley 25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 25-18 in East Division action.
Aubrie Heron added an ace, 13 kills, two blocks and three digs for the Panthers (13-4, 11-2); Corrina John had eight kills, 11 blocks and two digs; Addison Kota recorded two aces, an assist, eight kills and 20 digs; Jillian Gernatt put up 37 assists, an ace, and six digs; Ella Luther pulled out 34 digs and Elizabeth Green contributed seven kills.
Cattaraugus-Little Valley falls to 13-4 overall and 9-4 in league.
EAGLES FALTER
SILVER CREEK — Silver Creek dropped just one set as it held off North Collins in the East Division 25-20, 23-25, 25-20, 25-10.
North Collins (4-13, 2-11) was led by Erin Barker with nine kills, while Zoe Kreinheder had 16 assists.
Silver Creek (7-8, 5-8) finishes up the regular season on Thursday at Pine Valley, while North Collins will host Randolph for its Senior Night the same evening.
