Lancaster County earned another top ranking in a nationwide popularity contest.
Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre reached the No. 3 spot in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice contest for best dinner theater. Results were announced Wednesday.
The theater on Centerville Road was up against 19 theaters including Arizona Broadway Theatre in Peoria and Showboat Branson Belle in Branson, Missouri.
Toby’s Dinner Theatre in Columbia, Maryland reached the No. 2 spot and Alhambra Theatre & Dining, Florida (the country’s longest continuously-operating dinner theater) was named the best.
In addition to the Dutch Apple, the other theater owned by Prather Productions — the Broadway Palm in Fort Myers, Florida — earned the No. 10 spot in the same contest.
“Fiddler On the Roof” remains on stage at Dutch Apple through May 17.
Lancaster Central Market was in the running for best public market. While market was named to the top 10 list in 2023, this time the site didn’t get enough votes.
Central Market was up against 19 others, from the Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco and Grand Central Market in Los Angles to Eastern Market in Detroit and Tin Building by Jean-Georges in New York City.
Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market and Easton Public Market in the Lehigh Valley made the top 10. Milwaukee Public Market earned the top spot.
Central Market’s next event is a strawberry festival, Saturday, June 14.
