A place where memories are made occupies space on the north side of Duncan where community members can engage with one another in ax throwing, paint splattering or conversation.
Experience Headquarters (HQ) partnered with the Duncan Chamber of Commerce to host a celebratory ribbon cutting of its business on Dec. 1.
Experience HQ co-owners Christopher Stone, Alexandra Matthews and Leanna Matthews opened up their new business as a way to bring a little added fun to the community in which they were raised.
Experience HQ offers ax throwing, a paint splatter room and a party room available for booking.
Alexandra Matthews said they have three ax throwing lanes available.
“They look virtual, they are just projectors, but they are real axes,” she said. “You actually get to throw them, you actually get to have a great time.”
She noted how it’s a lot of fun and a great way to bond with friends and family.
There are different game options for ax throwing, including Zombie Hunter, Duck Hunter, Tic-Tac-Toe, Connect Four, Bottle Ax — which is a live version of Candy Crush, as well as a new matching game and more.
Matthews said the lobby consists of canvas tables created by local artists as well.
The paint splatter room offers neon paint where participants get their own canvas to create a piece of art.
“You actually get to just fling paint around like you just don’t care, because you don’t have to clean up the mess,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun, a little messy, very creative and you get to leave with your masterpiece.”
She said they have a live feed of their splatter room, so those who don’t want to participate in the splatter room can still join in the fun.
The menu at Experience HQ includes items such as custom sodas, tea and lemonade, as well as drunken meatballs, beer cheese dip, blueberries and cream French toast and brownie fries.
Matthews showcased the party room with tables and chairs available for parties.
To reserve an ax throwing time, guests can book their number of participants, date and ax throwing times from 30 minutes to one or two hours online at https://www.experience-hq.com/.
