The Fort Dodge Community School District has been recognized for its financial practices.
The district has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School Business Officials International.
The award is specifically for the annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2022.
The certificate is to “promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting,” according to Siobhan McMahon, the chief operations officer and interim executive director of the association.
“The annual comprehensive financial report informs stakeholders about the financial and economic state of the district, making it an important communications tool for building trust and engaging with the school community,” McMahon said in a written statement.
The school district had submitted its report for review by a team of financial professionals. Since it met the requirements of the program, the Certificate of Excellence was awarded.
