Only two of the eight Republican candidates debating in Milwaukee — former New Jersey governor Chris Christie and former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson — indicated that they would not support former president Donald Trump if he is convicted of crimes. Candidates were asked for a show of hands midway through a debate in which Trump is not participating and was not frequently mentioned. The other participants were North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, former vice president Mike Pence, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott (S.C.).
