Purpose of elections is not entertainment
‘Women of Nevada County’ publication certainly welcomed
I read with interest your Thursday October 27th edition of “Women of Nevada County” and certainly welcomed such a spotlight on these amazing citizens. I hope this edition will become a regular feature of The Union and that it will expand to include more incredible women especially the teachers that form the backbone of our community.
I am thinking specifically of three women who every day provide our young people with the highly physical and mental demands of dance training, especially ballet — Yelena Holt, founder and artistic director of Holt Ballet Conservatory, Wendy Fritzinger, director of Center Stage Dance Studio and Courtney Wadman, director of the Nevada Union Theatrical Dance Department. Dance is a daily discipline and rehearsals can take up a lot of time and focus. These women put in countless hours in educating our young people in this beautiful performing art form. What other town of our size can boast of two crafted and polished “Nutcracker” productions.
