MAYOR CANTRELL TO ATTEND BLOOMBERG CITYLAB AND MAYORS INNOVATION STUDIO IN WASHINGTON D.C.
NEW ORLEANS — Mayor LaToya Cantrell today will travel to Washington D.C. to attend the 10th Bloomberg CityLab Conference and Mayors Innovation Studio taking place Oct. 18 – 20, 2023.
“It is an honor and a privilege to, once again, join Bloomberg CityLab, Aspen Institute and more than 500 leading urban and civic leaders in Washington D.C. for this year’s conference,” said Mayor LaToya Cantrell. “Bloomberg CityLab was founded on the principle that when local leaders come together to create and share innovative solutions, global impact can be achieved, and our people and communities can thrive. As our cities remain on the frontlines of the most pressing challenges facing our entire nation, from climate change and infrastructure, to new technology, public safety and mental health, I look forward to reconnecting with this emerging generation of leaders as we come together to create more inclusive, equitable, resilient and welcoming communities across the globe.”
Bloomberg CityLab is the preeminent global cities summit organized by Bloomberg Philanthropies, in partnership with the Aspen Institute, which Mayor Cantrell is a proud member through the Henry Crown Fellowship. This year’s conference will feature mayors, city innovators, business leaders, urban experts, artists, activists and more who will discuss and discover replicable solutions to pressing issues from leading their communities through rapid urbanization to confronting emerging technologies to reinvigorating economic development to solving for housing affordability.
Drawing on a decade of data, experiments and initiatives pioneered by city leaders from around the world, programming will include panel discussions, one-on-one interviews, interactive breakout sessions, artistic performances and key events for mayors and other local officials. Other featured participants for the 10th Bloomberg CityLab include Michael R. Bloomberg, Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington D.C., Mayor Karen Bass of Los Angeles, Mayor London Breed of San Francisco, Gov. Wes Moore of Maryland, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael Regan, former New Orleans Mayor and Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Coordinator Mitch Landrieu and more.
