Medford flyers leave stress of travel behind during holidays | Local

Date:

MEDFORD, Ore. – Tensions can be high for travelers flying out during the holiday season. However, some community members using the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport say that hasn’t been their experience.

The airport only has one terminal with six arrivals and departures at a time. Travelers say this makes it easier to navigate compared to larger airports with multiple terminals and gates.

“It’s a simple, straightforward experience,” Joe Serres, who flew into Medford on Tuesday with his family, told NewsWatch 12. “The airport is so small, but serves such a big area.”

People have also had positive experiences with airport staff, which they say alleviates some of the stress of travel.

“Everything moves at a very fast rate, but there’s still time for a thank you or some human kindness,” Carolyn Royce, an Ashland resident, told NewsWatch 12. Royce flew to Salt Lake City out of Medford this Thanksgiving weekend to visit family.

NewsWatch 12 reached out to the Rogue Valley International Medford Airport and has not received a response yet.
