BRAMPTON, ON (Nov. 23, 2023) – Peel Region announces David Sutton as Treasurer and Director of Corporate Finance.
David will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and Commissioner of Corporate Services, Davinder Valeri.
In this role, David will lead a team to maximize the value of financial planning with a fixed control on long term financial strategic viewpoints and execution for Peel Region.
David joins Peel Region with 20 years of progressive municipal finance experience. He was with the City of Brampton for nearly 20 years, holding increasingly senior positions, including Director of Financial Planning and Revenue, and between 2016 and 2020, Treasurer. Most recently, he was the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the Town of Caledon.

About Peels transition
The Ontario government announced the dissolution of Peel Region and the establishment of a Transition Board (TB) as part of Bill 112. The Transition Board was appointed to provide recommendations to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing on a range of restructuring matters related to the dissolution of Peel Region to make Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon independent municipalities by January 1, 2025.
