The kitchen will be open from 5:30-7 p.m. The menu will include catfish, shrimp, wings, chicken tenders, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, appetizers, baked potatoes, french fries, onion rings and salad. Halloween Bash, 4-8 p.m., Village Pointe Shopping Center, Omaha. There will be trick-or-treating from 4-6 p.m. and a free concert by High Heel Band from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Other activities include special characters, face painting, balloon twisters, gift card giveaways and a flash mob.
Fremont Fall Festival, 5-8 p.m., Fifth Street and Park Avenue, downtown Fremont. There will be a picnic dinner from 5-8 p.m. Bring your own food or purchase a hamburger, hot dog and nachos. The band Jacked will be performing live music from the 70s, 80s and 90s from 6-8 p.m. The festival is being sponsored by the Fremont Downtown Development Group. Everyone is welcome.

Flick and Float, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Dillon Family Aquatics Center, 1558 E. Military Ave., Fremont. Attendees are welcome to float in the water in their own inner tubes or swim or sit in the bleachers and watch the movie “Hocus Pocus.” The movie will be shown on a giant, inflatable projection screen, stationed on the concrete near the pool. Cost for YMCA members is $3 per person or $5 for a family. For non-members, it is $8 for individuals and $15 for a family. The YMCA will have popcorn, snacks and drinks. Children must be over age 12 to come without a parent. Children under age 8 must have a parent in the water with them; over age 8, a parent must be near the water. Children must be in life jackets, which the Y provides, and must be within an arm’s reach of their parent in the water. Attendees can bring their own floatation device, but it can’t be more than a two-seat device.

Fremont Fall Festival, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fifth Street and Park Avenue, Fremont. Pancakes will be served in the parking lot from 8-10 a.m. Then from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be an artisan market, live music, food trucks, Poppin’ Penelope, a photo booth, face painting and games. The festival is being sponsored by the Fremont Downtown Development Group. Everyone is welcome.
Annual Fall Arts and Crafts Show, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mid-America Center, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Over 150 exhibitors will be presenting and selling thousands of unique, handmade products. Admission is $6 with children 10 and younger admitted free. Parking is free.
Annular Solar Eclipse Party, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum, near Ashland. Specialized viewing glasses will be provided to all ticket holders. Local author Jayme Sandberg will sign her latest children’s book, “Total Solar Eclipse: A Stellar Friendship Story.” Admission is $12.
Zombie Fun Run and Walk, 10 a.m., Hormel Park, Fremont. The 2-mile event, sponsored by the Fremont Parks and Recreation Department, is for all ages. Runners and walkers will encounter an estimated 30 different zombies on the course. Registration is $5. Costumes are encouraged.
Platte River Art Show, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Peter Kiewit Lodge, Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, near Ashland. Meet the artists and view their photography, mixed media, paintings, jewelry, woodwork and handcrafted artwork. Food trucks will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A Nebraska state park permit is required for entry.
“Driving of the Spike” roadshow, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Union Pacific Railroad Museum, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Guests will be able to view a giant, gold-plated, Golden Spike Monument and a traveling exhibit. The new Golden Spike Monument is 43.3 feet tall and 3.5 tons. This event is free and open to the public. The museum also will host additional crafts and activities for guests of the event.
Fire Prevention Day, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nickerson Volunteer Fire Department, 101 N. Maple St., Nickerson. The event will include games, fire truck rides and hot dogs.

Halloween is Brewing with Fun, 2-4 p.m., Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, near Ashland. From 2-4 p.m., Owen Marina will be the site for games, pumpkin carving, a costume parade, naturalist programs, a campfire and trolley rides to tour campground Halloween decorations. Pumpkins will be available to purchase for $6 and carving and decorating tools will be provided. S’more kits and food can be purchased at the marina.
Rock the Nite Away Benefit, 4-10 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club main floor, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. Everyone is invited to dance to all the 80s hits with DJ Highroller while also celebrating Matt Kucera’s 50th birthday. There will be raffles, food, face painting, contests and a prize for best dressed. Admission is $5 per person for $15 per group. All proceeds will benefit FurEver Home Inc.
Halloween campsite decorating and trick-or-treating, 5-8 p.m., Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area. Everyone is invited to get into the Halloween spirit with family-friendly activities. Campers may decorate their campsites in a Halloween theme. Then, from 5-7 p.m., children may trick-or-treat in the campground while the decoration judging takes place. A valid park entry permit is required.
Izaak Walton Family Dinner, 6 p.m., Fremont Izaak Walton Chapter, 2560 W. Military Ave., Fremont. The dinner is open to the public. The menu includes cream chicken and vegetables over noodles or mashed potatoes, Jell-O, bread, dessert, coffee or juice. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Twenty free games of bingo after dinner are included with a paid meal.
Seventh Annual UYSS Halloween Bash, 8-11 p.m., Eagles Club Ballroom, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. The entry fee is $10 per person. The event will include a DJ, dancing, cash bar, food, raffles, and a costume contest. All proceeds will go to Uniquely Yours Stability Support.

Trunk or Treat, 5-8 p.m., Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park, near Ashland. Create “treats” for the animals that call the trees home. Guests also can eat dinner, take a hayrack ride around Pelican Wetlands and Crane Meadows, play tree-themed games, roast marshmallows and experience the great outdoors.
