The weather maps haven’t quite kept up.

Snow has been falling across the Arkansas River Valley throughout the day on Wednesday, although the television networks still show that the snow cutoff line ends at around the top of Poncha Pass. Their forecast – three to six inches in Saguache, none for us.

As we approach 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, residents of most parts of Chaffee County know that’s not true, and in fact, the snow appears to be picking up.

Following the 9News weather forecast — which says heavy snow until mid-day Thursday for the southern mountains — it appears safe to just celebrate this and say — “Let it Snow!”

Editor’s note: Folks up at Monarch Mountain must have been doing the snow dance.
