The annual Lenoir County Agricultural Fair is set to run from October 3, 2023 to October. 7, 2023. The Lenoir County Agricultural Fair is located at 401 Fairgrounds Road, Kinston, North Carolina. The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. General admission from Tuesday to Friday for adults and students K-12 is $6.00, with the price rising to $7.00 on Saturday. Children aged 4 and under are admitted free throughout the week.

Special promotions are in place for different demographics and days of the week. School-age children between 6 and 18 years old will receive free regular admission on Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A “Buy One, Get One” (BOGO) offer on armbands is available on Tuesday, Oct. 3. Vocational rehabilitation residents and one chaperone will have free admission between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday. Senior citizens aged 62 and older can also take advantage of free admission during the same time frame on those days.

On Thursday, Oct. 5, the fair will host an “Old Fashioned Dollar Day,” where gate admission is $1, and rides cost $1 each with a minimum $10 ride ticket purchase.

Wristbands for unlimited rides are available from Tuesday to Saturday at a flat rate of $25, provided by Dreamland Amusements. Ride coupons can be purchased on the Midway, along with individual tickets, books of tickets, and wristbands.

Entertainment and Attractions

The 2023 entertainment schedule is packed with diverse offerings:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 3: Dreamland Amusements Midway opens at 5 p.m. followed by the 36th Annual Cheerleading Competition at 6:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 4: The day starts with the Midway opening at 5 p.m., followed by EXTREME Shock Wrestling at 6:30 p.m., and a bicycle giveaway at 8 p.m.

  • Thursday, Oct. 5: A dance party will commence at 5 p.m., Karaoke with John at 7 p.m., and another bicycle giveaway at 8 p.m.

  • Friday, Oct. 6: The Lenoir County Line Dancers will perform at 6 p.m., and Baile Folklorico will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, Oct. 7: Jennifer’s School of Dance performs at 2 p.m., followed by Baile Folklorico at 3 p.m. and the Diaper Derby at 6 p.m.

Contests and Exhibits

Various contests, including a Demolition Derby, Tractor Driving, Educational Booths, Diaper Derby, and a Casserole Cook Off, will take place.
