In the 1983 draft, the Seahawks selected Penn State running back Curt Warner No. 3 overall. Warner would go on to become the first rookie in franchise history to rush for 1,000 yards (1,449) and 13 rushing touchdowns, also adding 42 receptions and a receiving score. In his seven seasons in a Seahawks jersey, Warner rushed for 1,000-plus yards four times. In that time, Warner started 92 of 93 games played, rushing for 6,705 yards, 55 rushing touchdowns and catching another seven scores.
