WEST LIBERTY — The National Association of Basketball Coaches released its second regular season poll for Division II men’s basketball on Tuesday afternoon, which saw West Liberty University maintain the No. 2 national ranking.
The Hilltoppers will next be in action Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. when they host West Virginia Wesleyan in the ASRC.
With a record of 5-0 (1-0 MEC) to start the season, West Liberty is averaging 105.6 points per game and a margin of victory of 35.6.
The Black and Gold are in the national rankings for the 39th consecutive release.
The Hilltoppers are joined in the rankings by one other fellow Mountain East Conference member, Fairmont State University, which fell to No. 19 after a 77-70 setback to Davis & Elkins dropped them to 4-1 (0-1 MEC).
The Hilltoppers are the lone remaining unbeaten team in the MEC. John Korte leads the team in scoring at 13.0 points per game, and in rebounds with 4.2 per. Christian Montague paces West Liberty with 6.0 assists per game.
