Women’s Volleyball Travel to Virginia Union on Monday for Division Match-Up

BOWIE, MD – The Bowie State women’s volleyball team will compete in their third Central Intercollegiate Athletics (CIAA) northern division matchup of the season on Monday Oct. 9th at Virginia Union. The game is set for 6 p.m. inside Barco-Stevens Hall.

Series
The Bulldogs are 6-24 against the Lady Panthers since 2008. However, both teams split last season series with Bowie State claiming a 3-2 triumph on Sept. 29 and VUU sweeping the Bulldogs, 3-0 on Oct. 20, 2022.
 
Bulldogs Thus far
Madyson Brinson is has the highest total in kills at 124 on the season while Tristynn Kerr is leading the team with 157 digs and Haley Pelham distributing effortlessly with 264 assists on the seasons. Last timeout, Bowie State (2-17) suffered a 3-0 loss to Elizabeth City State (8-10). Pelham had three kills and Kerr led the defense with 6 digs.
 
Virginia Union Lady Panthers
The Lady Panthers are 7-8 overall, coming off a 3-2 setback to Bluefield State. For 2023, the stat leaders for VUU includes Alana Simmons with 175 kills, Alaysia Miller with 161 digs and Ashlee Franklin with 433 assists. Monday’s matchup will be the first of two against Bowie State this season.
